Oban to Ganavan Sands Coastal Walk
Oban, Argyll and Bute
This scenic coastal walk from Oban follows the shoreline north to the beautiful sandy beach at Ganavan Sands with views across to the islands of Kerrera, Lismore and Mull. It is one of the finest short walks on Scotland's west coast.
The route leaves Oban harbour, passes the distinctive McCaig's Tower perched on the hillside above, and follows the coast path through mixed woodland and rocky shore. Ganavan Sands is a lovely crescent of pale sand with clear water that dogs adore.
The views throughout are magnificent, with the mountains of Mull visible across the Sound. Oban itself is a charming seafront town with excellent seafood restaurants and several dog-friendly establishments.
