Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 2026
Our Commitment
PrettyPup is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we continuously work to improve the accessibility of our site.
What We Do
We have taken the following steps to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML - We use proper heading structures, landmarks, and ARIA labels to help screen readers navigate our content.
- Keyboard navigation - All interactive elements (menus, forms, buttons) can be operated using a keyboard alone.
- Colour contrast - Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for readability.
- Alt text - All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text.
- Responsive design - The site works across different screen sizes and supports text resizing up to 200%.
- Focus indicators - Visible focus outlines are provided for keyboard users navigating interactive elements.
- Form labels - All form inputs have associated labels for screen reader users.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- Some older user-submitted images may lack descriptive alt text.
- Interactive map components may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. We provide text-based location information as an alternative.
- Some third-party embedded content may not meet our accessibility standards.
Assistive Technology
Our site has been tested with the following:
- Screen readers (VoiceOver on macOS, NVDA on Windows)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- High contrast mode
