This walk from the beautiful Cotswold town of Painswick climbs to Painswick Beacon, one of the finest viewpoints in the Cotswolds. The views extend across the Severn Vale to the Forest of Dean, the Brecon Beacons and the Malvern Hills.

The hillfort on the summit dates from the Iron Age. The descent through the beech woodland is beautiful, especially in autumn when the leaves turn golden. Painswick is known as the Queen of the Cotswolds for its elegant stone architecture.

Dogs enjoy the open grassland on the beacon and the woodland trails. The town has several dog-friendly establishments for post-walk refreshments.
