This varied walk from the medieval village of Dunster combines castle grounds, deer park and the long stretch of Dunster Beach. The village with its iconic Yarn Market and castle is one of Exmoor's most picturesque settings.

Starting from the castle, the route passes through the deer park where fallow deer graze beneath ancient oaks, then descends through farmland to the shingle beach. The beach stretches for miles and is rarely crowded, making it perfect for dogs who love to run and play.

The return route passes through the village where several dog-friendly establishments offer refreshments. Dunster Castle, owned by the National Trust, is a magnificent building with gardens that welcome dogs on leads.
