Dunwich Heath is a beautiful stretch of coastal heathland managed by the National Trust, looking out over the North Sea. This walk combines the heather-covered heath with the wild shingle beach at Dunwich, once one of the most important ports in medieval England.

The heath is spectacular in late summer when the heather and gorse bloom. The beach below is wild and atmospheric, with the remains of the drowned city occasionally exposed after storms.

Dogs are welcome on the heath and beach. The National Trust tearoom welcomes dogs in the outdoor seating area.
