About Pretty Pup

Pretty Pup is a guide to getting out and about with your dog in the UK: where to walk, where you can take the dog for a pint or a coffee afterwards, which beaches allow dogs and when, and where to stay. It is run from Lincolnshire, where it started, and now covers walks and venues across England, Scotland and Wales.

How listings are checked

Every walk guide gives the start point and parking, the distance and time, the terrain and where dogs can be off the lead. Every venue listing says where dogs are allowed and what is provided for them. We are working through all of them to check each one in person or with the venue itself, starting with the areas we know best.

When a listing has been checked, the page shows the date and how it was checked, for example walked in person or confirmed by the venue. A listing without that line has not been checked yet, so treat its details as a starting point and confirm anything important, such as whether dogs are allowed inside, before you travel.

Correcting a listing

If a walk, pub or beach page is wrong, or a venue has changed its policy, use the contact form and name the page. We check every correction from venue owners and local walkers before updating the listing.

How the site is funded

Pretty Pup carries advertising and offers venues a paid sponsored listing, which is labelled as sponsored wherever it appears. Sponsorship never changes whether a venue is listed as dog-friendly or what its page says about dogs. Some links to products are affiliate links; see the affiliate disclosure.
