Beach Overview

Perranporth boasts one of the longest beaches in Cornwall: three miles of golden sand stretching north from the village towards Ligger Point. At low tide, the beach is extraordinarily wide, creating a vast playground of sand, surf and rock pools. The village sits right behind the beach with easy access from the main street.

Why Dogs Love It

The sheer scale of Perranporth is what makes it special for dogs. Three miles of sand means there is always space to run flat out, play fetch and explore without crowding. The stream that runs across the beach from the dunes provides fresh water. Rock pools at both ends offer sniffing adventures. On a quiet weekday, you might have acres of sand to yourselves.

Dog Access

Dogs are restricted on the central beach section (near the lifeguard area) between Easter and October during daylight hours. However, the beach extends so far in both directions that finding dog-friendly space is never a problem. Walk north beyond the main area for unrestricted access year-round.

Facilities and Access

Large car park in the village centre (pay-and-display). The Watering Hole is a famous pub built right on the beach that welcomes dogs in the bar and outdoor areas. Several cafes and shops in the village. Toilets at the car park. Beach access is flat and easy from the village.
