New Forest Lodge is a small country hotel on the edge of Lyndhurst, the capital of the New Forest. The hotel is set back from the road in mature gardens that border the open forest, where New Forest ponies often graze right up to the garden fence.
Dogs are genuinely welcomed here. All ground-floor rooms are dog-friendly, with beds, bowls and a towel for muddy paws. The hotel has a dedicated dog shower outside and a drying room for wet gear. The bar serves local ales and the restaurant uses New Forest produce.
Walk straight from the hotel into the open forest. Miles of heathland, ancient woodland and stream-side paths await. The Bolderwood deer sanctuary is a 10-minute drive.
