Exmoor Forest Inn is a traditional country inn set deep in the Exmoor landscape, surrounded by open moorland and ancient oak woodland. The inn has been welcoming walkers and their dogs for over 200 years.
All rooms are dog-friendly, with beds, bowls and a towel provided. The drying room is essential after wet moor walks. The bar serves local ales and ciders beside a wood fire, with a flagstone floor designed for muddy boots and wet dogs.
Walks start from the door in every direction. The Barle Valley, Tarr Steps (an ancient clapper bridge) and the high moor are all within reach. Red deer are a common sight, particularly at dawn and dusk.
