A Norfolk Village Pub Done Right
The Dabbling Duck in Great Massingham is a beautifully restored village pub on one of Norfolk's prettiest village greens. With duck ponds, open fires and excellent locally sourced food, it has become one of the most acclaimed pubs in the county while keeping a genuinely welcoming atmosphere for dogs.
The bar area has a relaxed, pubby feel with worn wooden tables, local ales on tap and newspapers scattered about. Dogs are welcome here and treats are kept behind the bar. The restaurant serves more refined food, but the bar menu is excellent in its own right.
The village green outside is perfect for a stroll with dogs, with the two duck ponds that give the pub its name. The surrounding countryside offers excellent walking through rolling farmland and quiet lanes.
