Dog Amenities
Cheshire Dog School is a modern, science-based training school operating from a dedicated indoor facility in Knutsford. Founded by veterinary behaviourist Dr Amy Lawrence, the school combines animal behaviour science with practical, everyday training techniques.
The school runs a structured programme from Life with Puppy through to Advanced Obedience, with specialist courses in scentwork, trick training and canine enrichment. All classes are taught by qualified instructors who are members of the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers).
Dr Lawrence also offers clinical behavioural consultations by referral from veterinary practices, addressing complex issues including aggression, severe anxiety and compulsive behaviours. The school takes a holistic approach, considering diet, exercise, mental stimulation and medical factors alongside training.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes your training science-based?
Our training methods are grounded in the latest research in animal learning theory, behaviour and cognition. All instructors are IMDT qualified and use only reward-based, force-free methods.
How do clinical behavioural consultations work?
These are in-depth assessments for complex behavioural issues. They require a referral from your vet and include a full history review, observation session and tailored behaviour modification programme.
