• Ostler's Plantation and Woodhall Spa Woods - The pine and birch woodland surrounding the village is managed by the Forestry Commission and the Woodland Trust. Miles of sandy tracks wind through the trees, providing excellent off-lead walking with good shade in summer. The ground is naturally sandy and well-drained, meaning paths rarely become muddy even in winter.
• The Spa Trail - This former railway line has been converted into a walking and cycling path running south from Woodhall Spa towards Horncastle. The flat, surfaced trail is ideal for easy walking and is suitable in all weather conditions.
• Jubilee Park - A community park in the heart of the village with an outdoor heated swimming pool (for humans), open green space, and woodland walks. Dogs are welcome in the park grounds.

Woodhall Spa is reached via the B1191 from Horncastle or the B1192 from Sleaford. There is free parking in the village centre and at several of the woodland car parks maintained by the Forestry Commission. The sandy soil means the woodland paths are among the best-draining in Lincolnshire - you can walk here in ordinary shoes for much of the year, which is unusual for the county. The woodlands can be quiet and atmospheric, particularly early in the morning, and the lack of livestock in the forested areas means off-lead walking is straightforward for dogs with reliable recall.
