Blakeney is one of the finest birdwatching locations on the Norfolk coast, and this walk along the sea wall and marshes offers spectacular views of the vast saltmarsh landscape with views across to Blakeney Point.

The salt marshes change dramatically with the tides. At high tide the marshes flood, creating a vast inland sea. At low tide, winding channels are revealed through the samphire and sea lavender. The area is teeming with birds.

Dogs should be kept under close control near the marshes as the area is important for ground-nesting birds. The village of Blakeney has excellent dog-friendly pubs.
