This walk from the attractive village of Grassington visits the impressive Linton Falls on the River Wharfe and continues through the surrounding limestone countryside of Wharfedale. The village is a popular base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Linton Falls is a dramatic series of cascades where the River Wharfe drops over a limestone shelf. The falls are particularly impressive after rain. The surrounding countryside is classic Dales landscape with stone walls, barns and limestone outcrops.

Dogs enjoy the river access points and the varied terrain. Grassington has several dog-friendly pubs and a cobbled square with tea rooms.

Can dogs swim at Linton Falls?

Dogs can paddle in the river above and below the falls but should not be in the falls themselves due to the strong currents. There are safer paddling spots along the River Wharfe nearby.

Very much so. Several pubs including the Devonshire and Black Horse welcome dogs. The cobbled square has dog-friendly tea rooms. The surrounding walks are excellent for dogs.
