Tick Prevention & Removal Guide
Ticks are a growing concern for UK dog owners. These parasites can transmit Lyme disease and other infections, so prevention and prompt removal are essential.
Prevention
Use a vet-approved tick prevention treatment regularly, especially from March to October. Check your dog thoroughly after every countryside walk.
How to Remove a Tick
Use a tick removal hook (available from vets and pet shops). Slide it under the tick and twist gently until the tick releases. Never pull straight out or use Vaseline/alcohol.
